VIPROTRON North America is a key subsidiary of VIPROTRON GmbH, based in Pfungstadt Germany. Our company is the technology leader for high efficiency architectural glass scanning, enabling our customers to meet or exceed the continually increasing quality requirements in the field of glass processing.

We are actively seeking a field service maintenance technician to perform routine maintenance support of our advanced digital scanning solutions for glass quality inspection systems. 50-65% travel is typical for this 100% remote, home-based position.

Our corporate office is located in Aurora, Colorado. Candidates in the Eastern and Central time zones are preferred for this dynamic position. Candidates may be required to travel to Canada and Mexico for work on location and to Germany for training purposes and must possess a US passport. Candidates without a current US passport will not be considered.

YOUR AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • General field service and maintenance of existing installed base
  • Instruct customers in equipment operation, safety, and maintenance
  • Provide online technical support to customers and remote diagnosis
  • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis for electrical, mechanical and software issues

REQUIREMENTS

  • Technical trade school or associate degree in electrical or mechanical engineering with 1+ years of experience in an industrial setting
  • Proficient in general electrical knowledge and mechanical systems including digital cameras and LED lighting systems
  • Ability to interpret/apply information from electrical/mechanical drawings/diagrams
  • Hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical tools. Experienced in opening PC, working on hardware, replacing BIOS batteries, adjusting BIOS settings, etc.
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft OS, Office suite and related software tools
  • Experience with IP address assignments, remote PC access for diagnosis and support
  • Experience with PLC logic is beneficial
  • Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work with little supervision at a high quality and professional level. Commitment to excellence and high quality work results
  • Willingness to learn new skills quickly and to seek out information when needed
  • Strong communication skills with experience in problem solving and troubleshooting
  • Customer and service orientated aptitude
  • Travel is normally planned in advance, but can be for extended periods (up to three weeks at a time); sometimes with short notice; sometimes weekends; rarely holidays
  • Must hold a valid passport
  • Language skills a plus in Spanish and/or French and/or German, but not required

SCHEDULE

  • Monday to Friday: Office 40hrs/wk (Varying hours during travel possible.)
  • Weekends sometimes required
  • Overtime – over 40 hours per week
  • Up to 65% travel to customer locations
