20 Years!
Do you remember what you were doing in July 2004?
Kai Vogel and Andreas Sandner will certainly never forget that summer evening in their local beer garden in Hessen! It has been 20 years since a spontaneous idea in Darmstadt led to the founding of a company that is now the world's number one in quality assurance for the glass industry. The birth of Viprotron GmbH!
Kai Vogel and Andreas Sandner founded Viprotron 20 years ago with a vision:
Creating a high-quality, reliable, and precise solution for quality control in the flat glass industry!
Viprotron started at the Technology and Innovation Center (TIZ) of Darmstadt University as a two-man show.
Kai and Andreas spent countless hours at the workbench and writing code on the computer. In 2004, their hard work paid off, and they were able to put their first glass quality inspection scanner into operation at Glas Dreisbusch.
And just 20 short years and many milestones later:
Today, Viprotron is a global company headquartered in Germany with a subsidiary in the United States. The company now employs over 40 people worldwide.
To this day, Viprotron GmbH is 100% privately owned by the two founders and has always stood for quality scanners "made and developed in Germany."
The company has long outgrown the premises of TIZ and the "start-up" label. Today, the company is headquartered in Pfungstadt, near Darmstadt, in the heart of Germany's high-tech center.
The founders have always remained true to their roots with their company. To this day, Viprotron maintains a close cooperation with the Technical University of Darmstadt, where it all began. The expanded and diversified product portfolio of inspection systems enables quality control of the entire production and processing process of flat glass.
We have been able to present many technical innovations to our customers over the past 20 years. We are committed to staying up to date with the latest technology, market requirements, and developments. Our focus has always been on what our customers need not only now but also in the future! Always with the goal that our scanners improve their product quality while simultaneously reducing costs for them.
Customers have repeatedly approached us with specific problems. We are proud that our team has always embraced these challenges as exciting opportunities and approached problem-solving with highly innovative work methods and creativity. Our employees embody the company spirit and always put our customers first. This has been the foundation of building such strong and long-lasting customer relationships.
At this point, we would like to thank all our customers who have placed their trust in us and made us their partner in quality assurance. We share long-standing partnerships with many customers. Some still operate the first scanners from 2005 in their plants to this day.
Our thanks also go to our extensive network of agents and OEM partners, which we have successfully built up. We are more than aware of the value of this network and these good relationships. Here too, we often share long-term collaborations, and naturally, our network is continuously growing, and we welcome every new face!
The founders and owners are particularly proud not only of the successful growth of their company but also of their wonderful team of employees, without whom the company's growth and development would not have been possible. Many employees have been part of the Viprotron family for over 10 years. This team deserves the greatest thanks!!
